I don't shoot the corpse.
I shoot the Logis moving in to revive him. |

I shoot the Logis moving in to revive him. Wrong, shoot the guy after being rezzed and then the logi. If he's a Protosuit, and I'm not, it's safer to kill the Logi before he gets there.
Chibi Andy wrote:lol that works too but if there aren't any logi's around or they hiding and waiting for you to leave, always good to make sure that when a proto goes down, he stays down for good And if they stay hidden, they're not reviving him. If I waste ammo shooting someone who's down and waiting, I waste ammo and leave myself more vulnerable against those Logis. They may not be combat-fitted, but they're still more dangerous than my reload animation. |

Reading that thread, you'll notice that people behind the shield also can't shoot out. If they can shoot you, then you're able to return fire. |

CCP Wolfman wrote:(...)the idea is that over time we'll be able to develop different types of shields with different applications. This is just where we're starting. I'v assumed there will be some portable model soon(tm). Garrett Blacknova wrote:(...)Reading that thread, you'll notice that people behind the shield also can't shoot out. If they can shoot you, then you're able to return fire. I am aware of this. But while you wait for the shield to drop down, and shoot me, you better keep your eyes on other reds coming after you Last thing. It will be possible to step out of the stationary shield bubble in the direction opposite to incoming fire and still be protected by a bubble blocking enemy fire. Under condition the threat is unidirectional of course. I hope it will be visible from the inside of the bubble where hits are coming from and take the opposite exit This is all well and good, but if you're the Logi trying to get to a downed Protosuit, I'm still going to be standing over him and forcing you to keep your distance. |

This is all well and good, but if you're the Logi trying to get to a downed Protosuit, I'm still going to be standing over him and forcing you to keep your distance. Why the crush for the proto? Is it because she/he just shows off his gear without proper experience which costed him death and so she/he should be punished for the incompetence? Prototype suits are expensive. Killing even a partially-resotred Protosuit is a challenge when I'm running cheaper gear, so preventing that target from getting back up is a worthwhile goal. A respawning player becomes less likely to keep using Proto gear with each death. And really, I do the same to any particularly dangerous opponent, but because the thread was based around targeting Protosuits, I'm running with that specific example.
Quote:Do i follow you correctly : Quote: If you wear a proto gear you should never fall and if you do you should never wear a proto gear
Not even close. If you bring something expensive, and I kill it, expect me to do all I can to make sure you lose it.
If I see you as a threat, I'll do my best to put you down, and when you go down, I'll do my best to make sure you stay down. |

I think it's probably more related to sadism than griefing... although that distinction is a blurry line, so I think you're probably closer to right than I'd like to admit.

Proto Without shields -> Still dead meat Tell that to the armour tanked Proto Assault I was fighting the other day. I've seen Heavies go down easier than some unshielded Protosuits. |
